International Day of Peace as a Global Ceasefire and Day of Peace &
Nonviolence in our homes, our communities and between nations. Peace
Day has been a focal point for community-uniting and peace-inspiring
events since its inception in 1981.
Together we can create a more peaceful, just and sustainable world,
one heart, one family, one community at a time. Join the Countdown To
Peace and help inspire your community to create humanity's first day
of peace, ever.

CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
- Ask
your favorite organization, group or religious institution to support
the International Day of Peace
- Plan or attend a Peace Day Event in
your community (scheduled events include concerts, parades, marches,
fasts, conferences, festivals, gatherings, service projects, ceremonies,
children's activities such as peace art & essay contests and pinwheels
for peace, Peace Day parties and peace vigils)
- Ask
your Mayor, City Council, Governor and Head of State to declare a Proclamation
of Peace

year in the Pinwheels For Peace program to celebrate Peace Day, creating
and displaying 1/2 million pinwheels for peace to inspire their communities

ANDES
Chair
of Peace/University of Los Andes: are dedicating one week to the
celebration of the International Day of Peace, in where children and
adults work collectively on special days for the promotion of Peace,
public awareness and reaffirmation of commitments by the building
of Peace and the non-violence, within the framework of the Decade
the International of a Culture of Peace and non-violence for the children
and young people of the World, 2001 - 2010, declared by the United
Nations. In this third consecutive year, the Chair of Peace and Human
rights "Mr. Oscar Arnulfo Romero" of the University of Los Andes,
have been united with the information of PEACE ONE DAY (host in London)
to promote in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, this world-wide
celebration.

VENEZUELA

Voluntario Venezuela: We are working in conjunction with the Defensoria
of the town of Venezuela, where we have a plan of 7 debates, 2 workshops
and a central Forum day on 21 of September 2006, with children and
children from local schools, where in dual work with Catedra of La
Paz from Tachira, we will work as delegates of Peace.
