Peace
Day
Nauru

All United Nations member countries agreed to celebrate September 21, The International Day of Peace
as a Global Ceasefire and Day of Peace & Nonviolence in our homes,
our communities and between nations. Peace Day has been a focal point
for community-uniting and peace-inspiring events since its inception
in 1981.
Together we can create a more peaceful, just and sustainable world,
one heart, one family, one community at a time. Join the Countdown To
Peace and help inspire your community to create humanity's first day
of peace, ever.

Asael,
Anthony - Art in All of Us: I will be in Nauru on the 21st of September
working in a school for an art program called Art in All of Us. Art
in All of Us aims at promoting creative cultural exchange throughout
the UN listed countries, using art. Our mission is to develop the
creativity, curiosity and artistic sensitiveness of some children
of the world by fostering a world of poetry, drawing and photography.
We believe that the building of a better world can be achieved by
the involvement of children in art and multicultural exchange activities
that reach other children, many of whom are less advantaged. In too
many countries, children are considered as only half a person and
rarely benefit from the right to fully express themselves. It is our
duty to give them a voice. Our vision is a world of understanding,
tolerance and peace.?? We promote multicultural exchange and understanding
through the creative minds of children and using the universal language
of art. Photography, children’s artworks and rhymes help adults and
children gain knowledge of cultural similarities and differences.
Our shared curiosity of the “unknown” and desire for harmony and happiness,
lead to open-mindedness, acceptance and respect. ?? On 21 September
I will ask the children to prepare drawings and poetry on the subject
of peace! www.artinallofus.org .
