United Nations member countries agreed to celebrate September 21, The
International Day of Peace as a Global Ceasefire and Day of Peace &
Nonviolence in our homes, our communities and between nations. Peace
Day has been a focal point for community-uniting and peace-inspiring
events since its inception in 1981.
Together we can create a more peaceful, just and sustainable world,
one heart, one family, one community at a time. Join the Countdown To
Peace and help inspire your community to create humanity's first day
of peace, ever.
YOU
CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
- Ask
your favorite organization, group or religious institution to support
the International Day of Peace
- Plan or attend a Peace Day Event in
your community (scheduled events include concerts, parades, marches,
fasts, conferences, festivals, gatherings, service projects, ceremonies,
children's activities such as peace art & essay contests and pinwheels
for peace, Peace Day parties and peace vigils)
- Ask
your Mayor, City Council, Governor and Head of State to declare a Proclamation
of Peace
- Print
out Flyers, Posters and other Resources

Dolmaling Nunnery;' 11 am Lotus Ananda Marga School, Service
for Peace awarding of price-winning essay contest; 12 noon Minute
of Silence and signing ceremony of Amnesty International; 1400 Bahai
Prayer Service; 1500 Muslim community prayer; 1600 Catholic Prayer
Service; 1900 Culminating Religious activity and Ringing of Peace
Bell at the center of Ulaanbaatar. |
Jinpa, Thubten: Our commitment is to raise the UN White Dove
of Peace (yes, I actually made it) every Sep 21 as every spiritual
organisation in Ulaanbaatar becomes one family to pray for Peace
in the World.
