All United Nations member countries agreed to celebrate September 21, The International Day of Peace as a Global Ceasefire and Day of Peace & Nonviolence in our homes, our communities and between nations. Peace Day has been a focal point for community-uniting and peace-inspiring events since its inception in 1981. Together we can create a more peaceful, just and sustainable world, one heart, one family, one community at a time. Join the Countdown To Peace and help inspire your community to create humanity's first day of peace, ever.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

  • Ask your favorite organization, group or religious institution to support the International Day of Peace
  • Plan or attend a Peace Day Event in your community (scheduled events include concerts, parades, marches, fasts, conferences, festivals, gatherings, service projects, ceremonies, children's activities such as peace art & essay contests and pinwheels for peace, Peace Day parties and peace vigils)
  • Ask your Mayor, City Council, Governor and Head of State to declare a Proclamation of Peace
  • Print out Flyers, Posters and other Resources

 As you may know our small country is separate in 2 parts Moldova and Transnistria. (news about are on web http://www.azi.md/cgi-bin/page.cgi?htid=156&lang=En ). To help to resolve this conflict we planed to hold a children songs Peace festival from both parts of Moldova at the WORLD PEACE DAY in September 2006.And a peacemaker’s camp.

2005- Service For Peace sponsored a Peace Run to raise funds for peace work.

MOLDOVA
2003- For World Peace Day a “Junior Signal” program was held at Moldova National Radio House. This program allows volunteers to express their talents in making radio programs. Organized by “Teleradio Moldova” state company, IRFF ONLUS, Sports and Youth Department of Moldova this manifestation was a wonderful celebration with discussions, testimonies, impressions about working in this program. Also there was organized an musical competition and paintings exposition. Manifestation was ended by Appeal for peace. http://www.irffmd.org/news_2003_3_in_1.html#b1
