Peace
Day
MICHIGAN

Join
the worldwide movement to create a Global Ceasefire and Day of Peace
& Nonviolence in our homes, our communities and between nations
on September 21, The International Day of Peace. Peace Day has been
a focal point for community-uniting and peace-inspiring events since
its inception in 1981.
This year will be the greatest Peace Day, yet. Together we can create
a more peaceful, just and sustainable world, one heart, one family,
one community at a time. Join the Countdown To Peace and help inspire
your community to celebrate humanity's first day of peace, ever.
YOU
CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

your favorite organization, group or religious institution to support
the International Day of Peace

your community (scheduled events include concerts, parades, marches,
fasts, conferences, festivals, gatherings, service projects, ceremonies,
children's activities such as peace art & essay contests and pinwheels
for peace, Peace Day parties and peace vigils)
- Ask
your Mayor, City Council, Governor and President to declare a Proclamation
of Peace

A tentative schedule of events includes an educational piece from

peace and justice work. “There is a great quote by Miles Horton
- “If you think you have a good idea, go find some people in the
community who are already working on it, and help them.” “It is
our hope that this peace education display will ignite the passion
in each of us to contribute to peace in our daily lives.” From 7:00-8:00
Puzzles with a Purpose will conduct a peace education activity using
Global Peace(s). This activity assists in nurturing the understanding
of our connection to each other, and ultimately, our oneness. From
8:00-8:30 there will be an interfaith prayer/meditation for peace
on Earth. The event is free, and light refreshments will be available. |
