United Nations member countries agreed to celebrate September 21, The
International Day of Peace as a Global Ceasefire and Day of Peace &
Nonviolence in our homes, our communities and between nations. Peace
Day has been a focal point for community-uniting and peace-inspiring
events since its inception in 1981.
Together we can create a more peaceful, just and sustainable world,
one heart, one family, one community at a time. Join the Countdown To
Peace and help inspire your community to create humanity's first day
of peace, ever.
YOU
CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
- Ask
your favorite organization, group or religious institution to support
the International Day of Peace
- Plan or attend a Peace Day Event in
your community (scheduled events include concerts, parades, marches,
fasts, conferences, festivals, gatherings, service projects, ceremonies,
children's activities such as peace art & essay contests and pinwheels
for peace, Peace Day parties and peace vigils)
- Ask
your Mayor, City Council, Governor and Head of State to declare a Proclamation
of Peace
- Print
out Flyers, Posters and other Resources

Eurolinks Foundation Malta: The Foundation will do the following
events: Request all TV Stations in Malta to broadcast the Peace One
Day Documentary on Peace Day; Request Maltapost to issue a commemorative
stamp. We will plant a tree with the President of the Republic in
the San Anton Gardens (where most dignitaries have a tree planted
on their visit to Malta) We will request all local councils to name
a street "Peace One Day" in their localities; We will request all
local councils to plant a Tree of Peace in a prominent public place
to commemorate Peace Day. We will request The Bargain Magazine to
donate one full page to advertise Peace Day - this goes to all households
in Malta & Gozo (140,000 issues) We will request all local newspaper
to donate free of charge advertising space to commemorate Peace Day
by placing a free add.
