International Day of Peace as a Global Ceasefire and Day of Peace &
Nonviolence in our homes, our communities and between nations. Peace
Day has been a focal point for community-uniting and peace-inspiring
events since its inception in 1981.
Together we can create a more peaceful, just and sustainable world,
one heart, one family, one community at a time. Join the Countdown To
Peace and help inspire your community to create humanity's first day
of peace, ever.
YOU
CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
- Ask
your favorite organization, group or religious institution to support
the International Day of Peace
- Plan
or attend a Peace Day Event
in your community (scheduled events include concerts, parades, marches,
fasts, conferences, festivals, gatherings, service projects, ceremonies,
children's activities such as peace art & essay contests and pinwheels
for peace, Peace Day parties and peace vigils)
- Ask
your Mayor, City Council, Governor and Head of State to declare a Proclamation
of Peace
- Print

Interamericano School: My name is Vanessa Granados and I am
a 12th. Grade advanced biology teacher in Interamericano School
in Guatemala City. I would love to get a copy of the documentary
Peace One Day to show during my class period on peace day. I consider
that it is of great importance to get young people involved, being
the force that thrives peace in the world, especially in these violent
times.

just-a-minute Global Link-up: To launch ‘just-a-minute’, a global
campaign for inner peace, there will be, dedicated to the United
Nations International Day of Peace, a simultaneous minute of positive
silence for the world at 16.25 BST, when millions of viewers in
118 countries are united and linked via TV and webcast. ‘just-a-minute’
is a global initiative to shift consciousness in our busy, noisy
world by introducing the idea of regular one-minute pauses and breaks,
when individuals can re-connect with their core self, their strengths
and their values. just-a-minute is an initiative of the Brahma Kumaris
World Spiritual University (BKWSU), which celebrates its 70th anniversary
