Peace
Day 2007
GERMANY

All United Nations member countries agreed to celebrate September 21, The International Day of Peace
as a Global Ceasefire and Day of Peace & Nonviolence in our homes,
our communities and between nations. Peace Day has been a focal point
for community-uniting and peace-inspiring events since its inception
in 1981.
Together we can create a more peaceful, just and sustainable world,
one heart, one family, one community at a time. Join the Countdown To
Peace and help inspire your community to create humanity's first day
of peace, ever.

DARMSTADT
CISV Darmstadt: We are CISV an international peace organization
our aim is to tell children at a young age what peace means. We
are from the German part of the organization (chapter Darmstadt).
And now since we heard of the day it is of course another aim for
us to make the peace day public. Here are our plans for the day:
We want to show the DVD in local cinemas. We want to make a report
on radio about the day. We want to write an article in the newspaper.
And our biggest activity on that day is a small peace festival in
our city. We organized a place that is called Peaceplace in German,
there we want to build up a stage were a band should play. On that
place we want Peace Organizations to build up a table with information
about their organization. We want to make flyers to pubic the day,
and the events.
