your favorite organization, group or religious institution to support
the International Day of Peace
- Plan or attend a Peace Day Event in
your community (scheduled events include concerts, parades, marches,
fasts, conferences, festivals, gatherings, service projects, ceremonies,
children's activities such as peace art & essay contests and pinwheels
for peace, Peace Day parties and peace vigils)

Eero: Our commitment to Peace One Day 2006: I work in a big
school (555) students in Nummela. We have students from ages 3-16.
Last spring I had the opportunity to market Peace One Day in our
school. Everyone accepted this. So now its official. The day is
in our schools official calendar. This is what I have planned for
the day: Everyone in our school will wear a small white scarf or
a piece of white cloth. I will prepare a small presentation for
the older students with background info about Peace One Day, general
info about war and maybe a slideshow about war. We have lots of
great musicians in our school and music will play a big role that
day. I will have every teacher talk about this day, peace and war
to their students. Everyone in my school will also write their names
in a big big big piece of paper for you as a commitment for this
cause. Every student will receive a paper with questions about war.
Questions like: tell me 3 things why people go to war and tell me
3 things what could we do to prevent war and so on.
