your favorite organization, group or religious institution to support
the International Day of Peace
- Plan or attend a Peace Day Event in
your community (scheduled events include concerts, parades, marches,
fasts, conferences, festivals, gatherings, service projects, ceremonies,
children's activities such as peace art & essay contests and pinwheels
for peace, Peace Day parties and peace vigils)
- Ask
your Mayor, City Council, Governor and Head of State to declare a Proclamation

United Nations Association of Bangladesh (UNAB), Dhaka: Last year
(2005) we have organized a symposium on September 22, 2005 at Hotel
Purbani International, Dhaka in observance of Peace Day. Ambassador
Hemayet Uddin, hon'ble Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh attended
the symposium as chief guest while Mr. Wolfgang Vollman, Director,
UNESCO-Bangladesh attended the program as special guest. Eminent
historian Professor Sirajul Islam was the keynote speaker. Professor
Salahuddin Ahmed, President, UNAB presided over the function. This
year we are planning to organize a similar program.

Peace Day and to reiterate its unstinted support of the UN Charter
on Human Rights.
