International Day of Peace as a Global Ceasefire and Day of Peace &
Nonviolence in our homes, our communities and between nations. Peace
Day has been a focal point for community-uniting and peace-inspiring
events since its inception in 1981.
Together we can create a more peaceful, just and sustainable world,
one heart, one family, one community at a time. Join the Countdown To
Peace and help inspire your community to create humanity's first day
of peace, ever.

- Ask
your favorite organization, group or religious institution to support
the International Day of Peace
- Plan or attend a Peace Day Event in
your community (scheduled events include concerts, parades, marches,
fasts, conferences, festivals, gatherings, service projects, ceremonies,
children's activities such as peace art & essay contests and pinwheels
for peace, Peace Day parties and peace vigils)
- Ask
your Mayor, City Council, Governor and Head of State to declare a Proclamation
of Peace

United Nations Association of Bangladesh (UNAB), Dhaka: Last year
(2005) we have organized a symposium on September 22, 2005 at Hotel
Purbani International, Dhaka in observance of Peace Day. Ambassador
Hemayet Uddin, hon'ble Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh attended
the symposium as chief guest while Mr. Wolfgang Vollman, Director,
UNESCO-Bangladesh attended the program as special guest. Eminent
historian Professor Sirajul Islam was the keynote speaker. Professor
Salahuddin Ahmed, President, UNAB presided over the function. This
year we are planning to organize a similar program.

The Institute of Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) is organizing a conference
to share its solidarity with the observance of the International
Peace Day and to reiterate its unstinted support of the UN Charter
on Human Rights.
Title: ‘All Religion Conference for Global Peace’

This conference will help in countering prejudice and transcending
barriers of differences in faith, nationality, gender and ethnic

Monks and their disciples and followers gathered at village Satbaria,
Chandanaish, Chittagong, for an event coordinated by the Bangladesh
